After seeing so many rumors regarding dual-screen flip phone, finally there are confirmations to the fact that we want to share with you. Samsung’s China website reveals the gadget though with no specifications as to the exact release date or the expected price.
Stylish and functional built
Many tend to consider flip phones to be left in the past but it seems to be an old trend to be brought back into the future by such giants as Samsung and LG. Unlike their predecessors the newcomers are coming with an a lot more stylish built and a far more impressive functionality. That is very much true for Samsung W2016 which at that going to be not at the premium segment of the smartphone market, as the rumors suggest.
The new Samsung invention has two Super AMOLED touch screens measuring 3.9" with WXGA resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. As it would be expected with this type of built, the smartphone is going to have a T9 physical keyboard. Once it comes to the exterior design, we are expecting it to be a stylish metal body, something reminding the gorgeous Galaxy S6 or Note 5. From what we know so far the color choice is going to be between grey and golden.
Hardware and Software front
The interior of the device is quite impressive keeping in mind its mid-range positioning. Namely, it packs an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor clocked at 2.1GHz, paired with a hefty 3 GB of RAM. Samsung W2016 is going to be powered by a 2,000 mAh battery. We would expect it to provide a great long-lasting performance considering the displays’ size and resolution. Ever pleasing features also to be implemented in the gadget are the wireless charging opportunity alongside with fast charge technology. It’s supposed to have a 16mp main camera and a 5mp front shooter.
W2016 will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Samsung's own TouchWiz. The handset further supports 4G connectivity, dual-SIM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, and microUSB.
